Secret Garden #2 - Tree House

Fresh from my first masterpiece, Enter My Secret Garden, here comes my second piece aptly named.....Tree House.
Maybe I should call it My Imaginary Tree House since I live in Malaysia and in Malaysia we don't have tree houses...or, at least, we don't have parents building tree houses for their kids! ;)
But I bet it's a cool place for children to hang out growing up.

Tip #4 - A bird cage is meant to be see-through but if you want it to have a colour, you can do so by drawing random lines of colour to give it the illusion of colour but yet maintain that see-through effect.

P/S:  Can you spot Cookie in the tree house? ^_*

Tip #5 - When you have very tiny artwork to colour (like the leaves on this tree), it's impossible to do any shading but you can give it life by colouring it with a combination of different colours that blend together.

Tip #6 - You can certainly add your own touches to the artwork to make yours different from the rest.  Here, I simply added some grass at the bottom of the tree trunk.

Finally, my Tree House is finished!

The most challenging part of this piece to colour were the leaves as they were so small (and plentiful).  You can choose to do this in two ways....the easy way would be to go totally unsystematic (freestyle) and colour the leaves randomly with your selected colours or go the more difficult route (like I did) and use the same colours on the corresponding half of the tree for consistency and symmetry.

This second piece took a much shorter time to complete coz the overall drawing is much smaller and I didn't have to colour the entire page like the previous one.

It's such a wonderful feeling to have when you finally get to see your completed work.....and it spurs you on to your next piece!
