According to Sky Sports, the 24-year-old is valued at an eye-watering £70million by the Leicester hierarchy, with three years remaining on his deal and no pressure on the Foxes to part ways with their player.
Such a fee could prove to be a stumbling block for Arsenal, who are expected to complete a £50m deal to sign Ben White from Brighton and Hove Albion imminently and have already splashed £15m, plus add-ons, on Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Nuno Tavares has also joined from Benfica for an £8m fee, meaning approximately £75m has already been spent on players this summer.
Real Madrid ace Odegaard, who flourished on loan at the Emirates after joining in January, is also being eyed as a potential alternative.
